He had begun studying at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and at the age of just eight years old. Péter Nagy has performed in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia and has given solo recitals in New York, Sydney, New Zealand and throughout Japan. He has released CDs under Hungaroton, Delos, Naxos, SWR/Naxos, BIS, Berlin Classics, Hyperion, Decca and ECM. In 2001, he received the prestigious Liszt Award from the Hungarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. * * * * * Amelie Protscher is a jazz pianist based in Berlin, Germany. Since 1999, she has been actively involved in the Berlin and Hamburg jazz scenes not only as a soloist and sought-after accompanist, but also has made a name for herself as an educator and studio musician who has appeared as a featured performer on some 20 albums spanning the gamut from singer-songwriter folk to jazz fusion. In addition, she has appeared on concert and festival stages all over Europe and served as a juror for numerous national awards in the jazz field. Inspired by artists such as Charles Mingus and Rahsaan Roland Kirk with their emphasis on bridging the gap between traditional and modern jazz forms, her playing integrates strong blues and gospel roots with modern sensibilities, providing an encyclopedic overview over 120 years of jazz piano history. Her work as an soloist rests largely on two styles that form the heart and soul of her unaccompanied work: the contrapuntal "three-handed" style pioneered by Dave McKenna in the 1950s that juxtaposes independent melody and bass lines with rich middle-voice structures, and the Harlem Stride tradition with its driving left-hand patterns and lush wide-position chords. Her decades-long involvement with these styles has impelled Protscher to become an advocate for reduced-scale piano keyboards because the left-hand stretches these styles require are virtually impossible to execute comfortably by all but the most large-handed of players. Recorded after only one day of adaptation, this is her first public performance on a narrower keyboard than the customary 6.5"/octave that finds her exploring the new opportunities opened up to pianists with small and average hand spans by the smaller key width of Sirius 6.0 at UMDK Stuttgart. www.amelieprotscher.com</image:caption>

<image:title>2023 - Brazú Quintê</image:title>
<image:caption>BIO Composers such as Heitor Villa Lobos, Guerra‐Peixe, Radamés Gnattali, among other remarkable musicians, left an important legacy that highly contributed to Brazilian chamber music. These composers brought different textures in the sound and very singular colors in their melodies and harmonies. Influenced by that legacy but taking a current approach, the group Brazú Quintê was formed in 2016. The quintet has the proposal of making chamber music with original compositions, made by contemporary composers who are inspired by the diversity of Brazilian music. Brazú Quintê is also inspired by the traditional Brazilian popular music, performing unpublished arrangements of works by Almir Sater, Lô Borges, Tião Carreiro, Milton Nascimento, among other important Brazilian composers. With an unusual instrumentation: electric guitar, piano, flute, cello and violin - the Brazú Quintê group was born from the idea of member Fábio Leal to insert the electric guitar in the chamber music context.</image:caption>

<image:caption>BIO Like all composers whose work has stood the rest of time, David Amram's 1960 Piano Sonata, like Amram himself, is a reflection of all his experiences in music and life. Each movement celebrates the many worlds of the neoclassical . masters, middle Eastern, jazz and global folklore, all inspired by the architecture of traditional classical music, so that the soloist and the listener can both feel that they are being spoken to. As his 93rd birthday approaches, Amram is now regarded as one of the most influential living composers of his time, since his appointment by Leonard Bernstein as the NY Philharmonic's first-ever composer-in-residence in 1966. With over 100 symphonic , chamber, choral , theatrical, and operatic scores, all published C.P Peters, as well as his classic scores for "Splendor the Grass", "The Manchurian Candidate" and Jack Kerouac's " Pull my Daisy.” A new book, The Many worlds of David Amram: the Renaissance Man of American Music by Dean Birkenkamp is being released for worldwide distribution by Routledge/Francis & Taylor this November . with essays written by symphony conductors, jazz journalists, college professors, Native American activists, film historians, folk musicians, musicologists, orchestral and chamber music performers, singer -songwriters, theater and film directors, novelists and people from all the places in Amram's life where music has taken him to. In addition to constantly writing new music, and a fourth book, he continues to perform around the world as a guest conductor, soloist, multi-instrumentalist, band leader at jazz, folk and classical festivals and narrates them in five languages. All of David Amram’s classical concert music for the past 60 years is published by CF. Peters Corporation. He is represented by Douglas A. Yeager. <image:title>2023 - Hannah Reimann</image:title>
<image:caption>BIO HANNAH REIMANN has a lineage, actually tracing back to Beethoven. She has played classical music and sang in folk and rock ensembles since she was a child. Over the course of her varied career, she has played concert piano at Lincoln Center, fronted a punk band in Japan, appeared in over twenty independent films, performed with the Main Squeeze Accordion Orchestra, and directed the documentary, My Father's House: A Journey of Love and Memory. She devoted herself to interpreting the music of Joni Mitchell for much of the past decade. Performances of her show Both Sides Now, were hosted at The Bitter End, Littlefield, The Cutting Room and additional venues in Maine, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The show had a three-week run in 2019 at the Irondale Center, Brooklyn as part of the ON WOMEN theater festival. During the COVID 19 pandemic, she created The International Stretto Piano Festival, May 15-23, 2021, featuring 18 online concerts of pianists on four continents who own and perform on pianos with narrower-than-standard keys (for smaller hands) as well as Revelation Tuesdays, a monthly concert series at St. John’s in the Village gallery. Featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal as a “musician on a mission,” she is the only Steinway liaison for sales of “stretto” pianos. She convinced the company to make them available on custom order in February 2021. CNN presented Miss Reimann and violist Paul Coletti's performances and arrangements of Astor Piazzolla via live broadcast from the Argentine Consulate General; their live performances were also heard internationally. Venues include Lincoln Center, the Bitter End, Knitting Factory, Cutting Room, Grand Canyon Music Festival, Bargemusic and many others for her work as a piano soloist, chamber musician, singer-songwriter and rock musician including keys and vocals with the indie Rock bands Last Tango, Loaded Dreams, and various other local New York ensembles. Hannah is also a remarkable artist who writes and performs pop, latin, rock and Americana songs. With a strong background in classical piano, her style is an enchanting combo of various genres and performances. She is also well known for performing over 30 songs by Joni Mitchell as well as Bossa Nova, Jazz Standards and even Beethoven. Her new EP, self titled “HĀNA” includes collaborators such as latin Universal recording artist GO who hails from Brazil and Chile, comparable to early Norah Jones and Astrid Gilberto. Produced and cowriting with hitmaker Peter Rafelson (Madonna, Elton John, Stevie Nicks) brings the music to life and has led to additional collaborations and features. Recently awarded a grant from Café Royal Cultural Foundation, the EP features her “extraordinary voice” (XM Satellite Radio) and new production of her song,“Mi Corazòn,” which had been on radio for over a decade. Previously, Hannah has been commissioned to create numerous pop, folk, theatre and classical compositions. Currently she is focused on her own original composition and live performance. Born in New York to Korean and German parents, Hannah Reimann first sang publicly at age 2, began playing piano at age 5 and joined rock bands as a young teen. She worked with teachers from the Juilliard School as a teen; her focus on Classical music led to numerous piano recitals and learning to arrange and compose instrumental music. She has performed internationally since her teenage years when she was both lead singer for the punk band "Kikigurushii" in Kyoto, Japan and concert pianist in the United States. http://www.hannahreimann.com/</image:caption>

<image:caption>BIO - Steve Sandberg Three-time Emmy-nominated composer/pianist Steve Sandberg plays original music that masterfully blends classical, global music traditions, and jazz with the excitement of virtuosic improvisation. Steve was lead composer and musical director for Nickelodeon’s landmark children’s programs “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go!” His scoring and songwriting are informed by a lifetime of immersion in the music of many cultures. He began playing the piano at the age of four (and is a current student of the legendary pianist and teacher Seymour Bernstein). While studying music at Yale, and African Art History with Robert Farris Thompson, he heard Felipe Luciano’s Latin Roots radio program, and it changed his life. Deeply drawn to these rhythms, Steve moved back to New York after graduating to immerse himself in the world of jazz and Afro-Caribbean music. His mentor was multi-instrumentalist Mario Rivera, a member of the Dizzie Gillespie, Tito Puente, and George Coleman ensembles. Steve was pianist, composer, and arranger for Rivera’s “Salsa Refugee” group, and also performed with Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, and Ruben Blades. A highlight of this period was an appearance in Rio and São Paolo in a duo with vocalist Bebel Gilberto. Steve has toured with David Byrne (“Rei Momo") as keyboardist and vocalist and was musical director for Lincoln Center’s summer Brazilfest series. He has conducted and arranged for Broadway (Chronicle of a Death Foretold) and for many regional and off-Broadway theatres, including the New York Shakespeare Festival. Steve has also studied North Indian raga singing with Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, and performs with South Indian violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam. He has he has presented a series of concerts incorporating these wide-ranging musical explorations at the Knitting Factory, The Guggenheim Museum, and the Stone. Throughout the pandemic, Steve has been live-streaming regularly from Brooklyn's Soapbox Gallery, in collaboration with many New York musicians including Zach Brock, Rudy Royston, Boris Koslov, Vitor Goncalves, Jay Hoggard, Jay Rodriguez, and Vinicius Gomes. In August of 2021, Steve and Zach performed a duo concert at New York’s Bargemusic series. Steve also teaches classical and jazz piano and composition at the 92nd Street Y, as well as in his private studio. He teaches students of all ages and levels, in-person and online. He has also presented masterclasses on Improvisation for Classically Trained Musicians via the Global Music Foundation and at the New School. In 2019, Steve was commissioned by Kelly Hall-Tompkins’ Music Kitchen project, which presents classical music at New York City homeless shelters, to write an original song for tenor and string quartet. The song, setting lyrics by former Music Kitchen clients to music, will be premiered at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall in April 2022. stevesandberg.com</image:caption>

<image:title>2023 - Christopher O’Riley</image:title>
<image:caption>BIO Pianist, arranger, collaborative artist, composer, educator, and media personality Christopher O’Riley follows his passions into a fractal array of innovative directions, ever striving for the truest and deepest human connection, through performance and collaboration. It is with O’Riley’s dedication to the learning abilities, personalities, and imaginations of artists that he comes to his latest endeavor – a home-recorded traversal of J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier. O’Riley has produced an online archive of video lectures entitled “Everything We Need to Know About Playing the Piano We Learn From The Well-Tempered Clavier,” a series illuminating a new perspective on each Prelude and Fugue, expanding on the ways the paucity of Bach’s notation encourages us to engage creatively and imaginatively. Communicating and effectively empowering colleagues continues to be a crusade for O’Riley. O’Riley’s chamber music mentor, Benjamin Zander, had the impassioned ability to instill the inspiration not only to play a piece well, but to play it better than it had ever been played. That boundless encouragement innately informed O’Riley’s work on NPR’s “From the Top.” He hosted the program, heard by a weekly audience of 250,000, for 20 years. For two seasons, “From the Top at Carnegie Hall” ran on PBS, and the second season won two Emmy Awards. An appearance by O’Riley on the NPR magazine-formatted “Performance Today,” in which he performed works by Rameau, Shostakovich, and his own arrangements of Radiohead and Nick Drake, was immediately linked to over 150 Radiohead-related websites. Soon after, Sony Classical produced the first full album of O’Riley arrangements, the only classical album to receive four stars in Rolling Stone magazine. More genre-fluid projects resulted from his work with cellist, Matt Haimovitz. Their first project was an homage to the iPod: Shuffle.Play.Listen (Oxingale/Pentatone), a two-disc set, featuring repertoire from Stravinsky, Piazzolla, Martinu, and Janacek, as well as arrangements of Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Blonde Redhead, John McGlaughlin, and movements from Bernard Herrmann’s score to the Alfred Hitchcock film, Vertigo. O’Riley’s work with Matt Haimovitz crossed disciplines as well as genres. 2015 saw the release of their Beethoven.Period (Pentatone), their traversal of the sonatas and variations recorded on Matt’s gut-string cello and an original 1828 Broadwood. O’Riley is an omnivorous and obsessive reader, and his friendships with writers have engendered his most prominent compositional projects. He wrote incidental music for the CD accompanying Kris Saknussemm’s evangelist road novel, Reverend America. He wrote music for the film adaptation of Saknussemm’s play, The Humble Assessment. O’Riley’s grandest compositional project resulted in over two hours of music embedded in the eBook version of Mark Z. Danielewski’s prose/poem, graphic and historic and romantic odyssey, Only Revolutions (Pantheon). He recently contributed music to the podcast series, Foreward. https://christopheroriley.com/</image:caption>

She was also dedicated to her piano studies, so she simply combined these two passions into a career! She has over eight years of experience in teaching piano and cello and has been giving piano lessons in the Dallas area for the last five years. She specializes in private piano instruction at all levels. Eliana has recently graduated from her position as a teaching fellow at the Meadows School of the Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. During her position there, she studied Piano Pedagogy and Performance where she took private instruction with Dr. Carol Leone and teaching supervision with Dr. Cathy Lysinger. Eliana was involved with Dallas MTA events and worked for the Music So Simple studios located in Richardson, Texas. Her students have participated in festivals, recitals, and contests around the Dallas area. Hailing from Austin, Texas, Eliana participated in various musical organizations such as Austin Youth Orchestra where she played the piano, cello and harpsichord. She has also been a part of TSIPF in San Marcos, ADMTA festivals and competitions, Regions Orchestra, All-City, AISD Solo and Ensemble, UIL Solo and Ensemble, State Solo and Ensemble, CHAMPS (Chamber Music for Public Schools), CMFW (Classical Music for the World) and an internship program under Graham Reynolds (composer/bandleader) through MINDPOP. In 2013, she participated in a music exchange program with Zwickau Conservatory in Germany. In 2019, she presented her research on alternatively sized keyboards at the MTNA Piano Pedagogy Collegiate Symposium at Ball State University. She has recently taught at the Institute for Young Pianists at SMU and exhibited at the 2021 NCKP Convention. Eliana is a recipient for the Paul von Katwijk prize and Roy and Sue Johnson Award for Piano Pedagogy. http://www.elianayipianostudio.com</image:caption>
