BIO

Composers such as Heitor Villa Lobos, Guerra‐Peixe, Radamés Gnattali, among other remarkable musicians, left an important legacy that highly contributed to Brazilian chamber music. These composers brought different textures in the sound and very singular colors in their melodies and harmonies. Influenced by that legacy but taking a current approach, the group Brazú Quintê was formed in 2016.

The quintet has the proposal of making chamber music with original compositions, made by contemporary composers who are inspired by the diversity of Brazilian music.

Brazú Quintê is also inspired by the traditional Brazilian popular music, performing unpublished arrangements of works by Almir Sater, Lô Borges, Tião Carreiro, Milton Nascimento, among other important Brazilian composers.

With an unusual instrumentation: electric guitar, piano, flute, cello and violin - the Brazú Quintê group was born from the idea of member Fábio Leal to insert the electric guitar in the chamber music context.
